WEEK 12
This is week #12! I am still waiting to hear back from the publishing house. I have finally made it through to week #12-which I hope is a good sign. I do have some inside information- the publishing house has changed staff members and my hope is that it doesn't put my manuscript even farther behind in the decision making process. It is a bit frustrating because it IS my first attempt at a novel and I haven't sent the information to any other publishing houses. Basically my eggs are in one basket right now...the thought of starting over just about kills me. The nature of the business is slow and I have definitely learned a lesson or two throughout this entire process. - Never put all of your eggs in one basket!

Book 2
It is truly amazing how staring at a blank page can be both the biggest challenge and the greatest reward. There are days when my brain just seems to lock up and then other days my fingers can't keep up with the amount of information that my mind creates. I find myself nearing the end of book #2 and it seems that the last few chapters have been the most difficult to write. It has to be just right. Everything has to fall perfectly into place to close the book, so to speak. This is the true challenge of writing. You can write a perfectly prosed book with great suspense and colorful characters, but in the end you have to pull it together.

Book 1
Book one is currently at the publishing house! Yippee! The requested manuscript has been out now for almost eight weeks. I am very nervous and excited at the same time. Just the idea that I created something and put so much time and effort into it, is amazing...and the fact that the publishing house wanted to invest the time to read the full manuscript is also amazing!
Right now I am working on the sequel to book number 1. I am only four chapters away from being finished with the rough draft. I have to admit, this time around things seem to be flowing much better and I have found my self addicted to the charaters. I dream about them, think about them every waking moment...that is called obsession, I think! I guess if you are going to dream, dream big and don't give up. If you can't love and hate your own characters, you might need to rethink what your doing.
